I could really do without any more snow. No more, nein mehr!
We woke up to 10" on Sunday, 2 more inches fell that day and then it rained into the night. The roads were pretty darned clear going into to work with kids (off for Christmas vacation and don't want to pay the babysitters almost all the money I make in an hour kind of kids) in tow. We get into work, get all settled in and Sweet Pea says, "oh look mommy, it's snowing!" Oh cr..crimeny!
An hour later and a gazillion big-huge-gigantic flakes later, Kathie Lee comes into work and says, "Wow, I had to make a few turns I didn't want to cause my car wouldn't stop, and I almost skidded off the road two times!" Well isn't that fantastic news!
We walk over to the Döner place to meet the J Man for lunch, which was easy enuf with Corn Niblet on my back because all she has is a rain coat (and a sweatshirt and a long sleeve shirt and a short sleeve shirt, geez Mama, I'm not THAT bad of a mother!) and tennis shoes on! I only slipped 3 times but I'm pretty sure I would have sacraficed my body to save my Corn Niblet! Have I mentioned it was still snowing those big-huge-gigantic flakes?
An hour later, I get a not so secret coded phone call from the J man..."GET OUT NOW, THE ROADS ARE CODE RED, LEAVE!" Seriously it was the kind of call that John Cusack makes in 2012! So we ran for the door...(after closing up and renting videos)...an hour later.
This California girl is getting pretty darned good at driving 20 mph the 2 miles home in the ice covered snow! I didn't even loose my cool when the German family on the corner of the hill just stood and watched me get stuck for 10 minutes!
I tell you, I am the MOST entertaining American here I think! Entertaining, but sore from slipping and shoveling snow!
